Christmas Markets
There is nothing more festive than visiting the local christmas markets in the run up to christmas. Guernsey’s Christmas market in St Peter’s Port gives shoppers a unique opportunity to buy original gifts that are made locally. St Peter’s Port is reputedly one of the stunning harbour towns in Europe with its cobbled streets and rows of twinkling lights. St Peter’s Port is definitely a must visit for anyone in Guernsey this Christmas. Additionally, Guernsey’s VAT free and low duty makes it great place to stock up on christmas gift.
Take a Winter Walk
Wrap up warm and experience Guernsey’s beauty first hand. Take a walk along the coast or adventure through one of Guernsey's many walking routes to get in the festive mood. Although many kiosks will be closed for the season, Guernsey still offers the perfect winter walking routes in Europe.
Ice Skating
Get your skates on and go Ice Skating in Le Friquet Garden this winter. Here you will find a real ice rink set up for the christmas period where you can skate for up to 45 minutes between 10am and 7pm. Adults can skate for £9 and children under 14 for £7. This runs from the 1st December until the 31st so you have plenty of time to practice your skating skills.
Keep your home safe
If your home is going to be empty, keep it safe from thieves! Don’t leave presents on show around the christmas tree, acquire CCTV, outside sensor lights and a hose alarm. If a thief can see that your property is hard to break into, they will not even attempt it. Don’t forget to have lights in your home on timer, this will give the illusion that there are people in the house turning on a light when it gets dark.
