Propertyskipper traffic accelerates in 2021

2021 saw further website traffic growth for propertyskipper, overall traffic climbed around 10% from 2020 to approximately 1.2 million visits. There were some headwinds with international traffic declining slightly in each island as Covid-19 travel related restrictions continued to impact international property search. Inventory over 2021 also continued to decline particularly in Bermuda, Guernsey & Jersey in both residential sales and residential rentals.

Managing Director Peter Goodall said; “if we can sustain the volume of domestic traffic in 2022 whilst seeing a recovery in international traffic as borders re-open more, we could see some reasonable growth in all markets in 2022, tight inventory remains an issue and those looking to move house should sign up for our new property e-mail alerts as new listings, both sales and rentals, are attracting a lot of interest from house hunters as soon as they are advertised on propertyskipper, some segments of the market have been very hot with little available inventory at certain price points or for certain property types.”

“Also encouraging is that almost all our growth in 2021 has come from direct traffic or organic search, direct traffic in Jersey almost tripled,  in Guernsey and the British Virgin Islands it almost doubled over the year and increased by 25% in Bermuda. More and more users are finding propertyskipper through search engines such as google and bing or are now coming to us directly as their property search website of choice, we look forward to that trend continuing in 2022.”
