Jason also discusses where he is seeing activity in the market, favourite listings on the market and also provides some top tips for buyers and sellers
How long have you been in the business? I have been an agent for the better part of 2023. Although a bit “green”, I continue to spend the time and energy required to learn, understand, and hone the skills needed to be a successful addition to the local real estate industry.
Why do you like working for Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty and what’s the favorite part of your job? The culture. The overall sense that each member of the team is genuinely dedicated to assisting clients to the best of their ability. This feeling coupled with overall comradery of the workplace breeds comfort and confidence in a new agent who is finding his way. I enjoy connecting with new prospects and learning the ways in which I can best assist them on their journey. I take pride in paving the bumpy roads of real estate smooth for an experience that is as quick, easy, and safe as possible.
Where are you seeing activity in the market at the moment? There is movement in all segments of Sales and Rentals. The level of demand remains high with a host of motivated buyers looking to move quickly on available inventory.
What is your favorite property on the market right now? Sound House listed by Brian Madeiros.This house is a personal favorite of mine as it combines old charm with modern amenities. The blend of contemporary and old colonial design captivates with high exposed beam ceilings and Bermuda Cedar accents throughout. What property on the market right now, in your opinion, do you think is really good value? Multi-Apartment Home in Sandys listed by Rochelle Swan.I am a fan of investment properties that require minimal improvement to yield drastic results. This four-apartment dwelling is just that. With improvements to its exterior presentation this home could be transformed quickly with little disruption to current or prospective tenants. CLICK HERE TO VIEW
How do you see the Bermuda property market over the next 12 months? The upcoming year is set to be similar to the year prior. The demand will continue to outweigh the inventory but the hope for more properties to become available remains high.
What are your top 3 tips for purchasers when looking for a potential new home? Know your price range. The first step would be knowing what you can afford. This will help agents to streamline properties to you that are viable purchase options. Be flexible with your expectations. The home of your dreams is out there but it may not come outfitted with everything on your list of wants. In some cases, it may take a bit of creative thinking to have that dream realized in such a limited market. Be ready to compete. The high demand for properties is forcing buyers to compete for their interests. Understand that there are other buyers aggressively moving on property interests and that you will need to challenge for first position.
Finally – do you have any good tips for sellers when preparing their home for sale? Present a clean house inside and out. Dirt and clutter are distracting to potential buyers, limiting their imagination when trying to envision the property as their own. A clean decluttered house allows buyers the opportunity of an uninhibited dream space where they can easily see their personalization of the space.
