This month for ‘Meet the Agent’ we interview Joy Jones who works as a Real Estate Sales Representative for Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty. Joy has worked in the industry for 28 years and discusses her top tips for when you are looking for a new home, favorite listings on the market right now and also the favorite part of Joy's job - making property transactions for clients as easy as possible.
How long have you been a real estate agent? 28 years
Why do you like working for Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty? I love working for Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty as we are a family. Our clients and customers are extremely important to us and respect is key to our business. Here at Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty we respect one another which make it much easier to do our job in a meaningful and professional manner.
What is the favorite part of your job? No doubt helping people. Whether it be buying a property or selling a property my goal is to make the process so easy for you so that you can actually enjoy the transaction. I actually did a double transaction recently with a client selling a property and buying another. They were amazed at how easy both transactions went. The buyers of their property loved their new home and the sellers who were now buyers, moved into their new home within 24 hours of selling. Everyone was happy!
What is your favorite property on the market right now? My favorite property on the market right now is my listing at Cedar Crest which is a ground level one bedroom condo. It is fantastic for a first time home buyer or someone looking to downsize and even a great investment.

What property on the market right now, in your opinion, do you think is really good value? Barnesdale Apartments. It offers 9 rental units with a pool and only minutes to Hamilton. Great price of $1,000,000

How do you see the Bermuda property market over the next 12 months? I hope to see the market continue to improve. We have seen much improvement in the last few months and we see signs of further improvement. The inventory is a bit low and we have buyers, so that is a great sign.
What are your top 3 tips when looking a potential new home?
- Location is key. You can change anything with the house but you cannot change the location.
- Look at not only what the property has to offer now but look at possibilities for the future. If you know that you will need more living space in the foreseeable future, consider it when looking at properties.
- Remember that unless you build your home you will probably have to make minor compromises. It will actually give you the opportunity to put your own stamp on your new home.
