'Meet the Agent' - Keegan Stirling from Rego Sotheby's International Realty
This month for ‘Meet the Agent’ we interview Keegan Stirling, a Sales Associate at Rego Sotheby’s International Realty. Keegan discusses his expertise in the second-home and vacation home market in Bermuda, why he enjoys working at Rego Sothebys International Realty and also some excellent top tips for buyers and sellers in the current market
How long have you been in the business? I received my real estate license in October of 2016. The first real estate company to hold my license was DIG Bermuda Realty. When I moved my license over to EMG Realty, my focus in the real estate market in Bermuda became fractional ownership. I am now with Rego Sotheby’s International Realty and am continuing to exercise my expertise in this particular area of the market helping second-home and vacation home seekers to invest in Bermuda.
Why do you like working for Rego Sotheby’s International Realty and what’s the favorite part of your job? In my opinion, Rego Sotheby’s is the strongest and most forward-thinking real estate company in Bermuda. Their sales record speaks for itself. They have a great team who are extremely knowledgeable and supportive. I mostly enjoy interacting and meeting with new people. I am constantly developing my knowledge and understanding of the industry. There is always something to learn.
Where are you seeing activity in the market at the moment? As I mostly handle Fractional Ownership sales in Bermuda, I have seen an uptick in sales as travel restrictions around the world ease. The Fractional Ownership market in Bermuda is very much dependent on the travel industry. Thankfully with less and less restrictions, we are seeing interest increase.
What is your favorite property on the market right now? By far, my favorite property currently on the market, is the Leamington Caves Estate. I love the exposed Cedar beams, how undeniably, unique the property is and of course, the cave located onsite gives that extra wow factor! CLICK HERE TO VIEW
What property on the market right now, in your opinion, do you think is really good value? For International Purchasers, I’ve always felt that the fractional ownership market has great value. It really is an ideal solution for families that can be in Bermuda for only a few weeks out of the year. The self-sustaining fractional ownership market is a perfect home away from home, while also providing hotel & resort amenities.
How do you see the Bermuda property market over the next 12 months? With COVID slowly getting under control and travel restrictions easing, I do envision the fractional ownership and vacation/second-home interest to increase. Many people have been stuck inside and unable to travel for two years now and Bermuda offers a quick plane ride to paradise.
What are your top 3 tips for purchasers when looking for a potential new home? My top three tips for purchasers would be firstly, make sure you get all the details of the property to ensure it meets your search criteria. Secondly, put in place a 10-year plan for the property what improvements you plan to make, adjustments for better functionality and comfort. Lastly, enjoy your purchase! A home is one of the largest purchases the average person makes in their lifetime, so it is important to enjoy it!
Finally – do you have any good tips for sellers when preparing their home for sale? Appearance is crucial! Make sure your house or property is attractive to potential purchasers both inside and out. Spend the extra time and money if necessary, to make sure the landscaping is as appealing as the interior. You want buyers to be able to envision themselves creating a home on the property. If you happen to be on site during a showing, make sure you make it as comfortable for them as possible.
