Mark joined the industry in 2020 and has been on the go since in this currently active market. Mark discusses where he is seeing activity in the market currently, favourite and best value property on the market at the moment and also provides some top tips for purchasers and sellers if you are looking to move home.
How long have you been in the business? I have been licensed to practice real estate in Bermuda since 2020. The market has been so active I had to jump right in and I’ve been on the go ever since.

Where are you seeing activity in the market at the moment? The biggest challenge at the moment is inventory. If you have been thinking about renting or selling your home, now is definitely the time to talk to a real estate agent. You have my number below! I would give the same advice to buyers and renters, make sure you have an agent in your corner who knows what you are looking for. Properties are getting snapped up as soon as (and sometimes before) they go on the market.
What is your favorite property on the market right now? I think that Buddy Rego’s listing ‘Kings Point House’ is pretty incredible. You would be hard-pressed to find a property with over 5 acres in Bermuda at any price, let alone a whole peninsula with sandy beaches and a chain of private islands. What property on the market right now, in your opinion, do you think is really good value? At the moment I have a great rental listing, ‘Caprice’, in Riddell’s Bay. It’s in a sought-after location with the nature reserve right next door and the layout is ideal for a family looking for lots of space. How do you see the Bermuda property market over the next 12 months? There are still a lot of motivated buyers out there. As long as homes are priced correctly, they will continue to sell quickly. With interest rates predicted to rise, buyers will be much more conscious of overpaying so it will be more important than ever to get pricing right from the outset.
What are your top 3 tips for purchasers when looking for a potential new home?
1) Look within your price range and make sure you have been preapproved if you require financing.
2) Keep an open mind and be willing to compromise on your wish list or adjust your budget to reflect the current market.
3) If your offer is accepted, act quickly! Offer and acceptance is only the first step. Be proactive and make sure to meet key deadlines. A good agent will help you with this.
Finally – do you have any good tips for sellers when preparing their home for sale? Deep clean, declutter, and depersonalize. Create an environment that allows potential buyers to imagine themselves in the space; help them to feel like it is their house, not your house. And, of course, talk to a real estate agent before you get started.
