Why do you like working for Coldwell Banker?
Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty is a full service real estate agency with departments for land surveying, appraisals, rentals and all that knowledge is easily accessible to all the agents. Plus, the training available to us is invaluable together with my colleagues who are generous with their knowledge/experience.
What is the favourite part of your job?
It has to be matching the right property to the buyer and keeping the vendor happy!
What is your favourite property on the market right now?
The Parapet. Somerset Road. This is a magnificent Bermudian estate set on 9 acres going right down to waterfront. The interior has a lavish amount of Bermuda Cedar and there are two separate cottages.
What property on the market right now, in your opinion, do you think is really good value?
Generally, condominiums are extremely good value and the one I would pick is #9 Barrack Close in St George’s. This is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom townhouse which is in pristine condition, lovingly upgraded by its owner.
How do you see the Bermuda property market over the next 12 months?
As 2013 has opened, there is a more optimistic air in the Island and we at CBBR are certainly very busy. We need some more adjustments from Government to stimulate certain segments to buy. Prices over the past 18 months have come down which has given wonderful opportunities to buyers.
What are your top 3 tips when looking at a potential new home?
• Be pre-approved by the Bank before you look.
• Choose one real estate representative to work with. They will know viewing history, your likes and dislikes, your financial situation and will work to find what suits you.
• In most cases, there is no PERFECT home. Look for the potential in a property; how you can alter it for you. Prices will go back up, so delaying purchasing may work against you.
