'Meet the Agent' - Sarah Faiella - Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty

This month for 'Meet the Agent' we interview Sarah Faiella, Real Estate Assistant at Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty. Sarah discusses why she enjoys her job and working for Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty, the outlook for the Bermuda property market over the next 12 months and Sarah's top tips when looking for a new home.

How long have you been a real estate agent? I have been in real estate for 4 years now. I started doing property management for 2 years and have been working in sales for 2 years now.

Why do you like working for Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty? I like working for Coldwell Banker Bermuda Realty for many reasons!  The team as a whole is a very passionate and caring group of people. Also, our management team is very supportive and innovative, continuously encouraging and inspiring us to implement creative ways to do business. We are a talented, diligent company that I’m proud to be a part of.

What is the favorite part of your job? My favourite part of the job is the variety of different activities involved in being a real estate agent. No day is ever the same, and the range of tasks allows you to use many different skills, including some you may not have even known you had!

What is your favorite property on the market right now? My favourite property on the market right now is a Seacliff’s Lane condo Coldwell Banker has listed for sale. What property on the market right now, in your opinion, do you think is really good value? I think our Whale Bay Condo’s offer a really good value for money. All listed under $400,000 and done to a nice quality, with a pool on property. How do you see the Bermuda property market over the next 12 months? I think the Bermuda property market is going to continue to slowly but steadily strengthen over the next 12 months, specifically in terms of increased activity in buying and even selling. I don’t anticipate property prices to rise within this period, but I do think that more people are looking to commit to Bermuda by investing in property, and many are recognizing the great value for money that current property prices are offering. I anticipate that the trickle effect that we are seeing with people coming back to the island will continue as Bermuda continues to prove itself as an ideal destination, and this will ultimately affect the property sales market in a positive way.

What are your top 3 tips when looking a potential new home? Top 3 tips when looking for a potential new home:

1) Know your financing pre-approval status before you start looking

2) Make sure you are working with a knowledgeable and diligent real estate agent who is fully aware of all of your wants, needs and dislikes.

3) Don’t just focus on the “pretty” things. Remember to find out as much as you can about things like cesspits, water tanks & other water access, planning and zoning regulations, etc.
