'Meet the Agent' - Sharika Tucci from Masterkey Management Ltd.

This month for 'Meet the Agent' we interview Sharika Tucci - Managing Director of Masterkey Management Ltd. Sharika discusses the services that specialist property management company Masterkey Management Ltd. provides, the favourite parts of her job as well top property management tips for homeowners. 

How long have you been a real estate agent and property manager? I have been a property manager and held a real estate license for over twelve years. I subsequently obtained a real estate broker’s license after forming Masterkey Management Ltd. in 2012.  

What services does Masterkey Management Ltd. provide? Masterkey is a specialist property management company providing management services for all property types including residential units, condominium developments and holiday homes. In addition, Masterkey provides a residential rental agency service.

Why do you like working for Masterkey Management Ltd.? As the owner of the company, I absolutely love the flexibility that I have in directing the quality of service provided to my clients. Every client’s needs are unique and it’s important for clients to know that a business is willing to adapt to their specific needs. Through Masterkey, I am able to provide customized property management solutions for my property management clients.  

What is the favorite part of your job? No two days are the same!  My day may include planning a maintenance schedule, making a presentation at a client’s AGM, showing a rental listing, coordinating an emergency repair, establishing an annual budget, inspecting a property, brainstorming with a contractor, drafting a lease or vetting a prospective tenant. Every single day is rewarding as it achieves my goal of easing the burden of property ownership for my clients.

What are your top 3 property management tips for homeowners? My advice for any property owner is to ‘check, maintain and plan’.  

•Check periodically for leaks, malfunctioning services, loose hardware or invasive plant growth to identify problems before they become major issues.  

•Maintain your property with regularly scheduled service visits (an air-conditioning service contract or scheduled window servicing, for example) to extend the life and improve the efficiency of the various components of your home.  

•Plan ahead to fund the cost of future upgrades; whether it’s for your kitchen and bath, lighting or landscaping, upgrades will maintain the appeal of your property as it ages.
