'Meet the Agent' - Tiago Rebelo - Rego Sotheby's International Realty

This month for ‘Meet the Agent’ we interview Tiago Rebelo, a Real Estate Agent at Rego Sotheby's International Realty. Tiago is now a full-time agent at Rego Sotheby's International Realty, having previously interned with the team whilst studying at University. Tiago discusses where he is currently seeing activity in the market, outlook for the property market over the next 12 months and also highlights his favourite property on the market right now.

Why do you like working for Rego Sotheby’s International Realty, and what’s your favourite part of your job? I really enjoy working at Rego Sotheby’s International Realty because it is a place where you can genuinely grow and learn. I interned here for a year while I was at university and was inspired to get my real estate license. After graduating, I was fortunate to step into a full-time agent role after passing the exams for my real estate license. That experience showed me how much the company truly invests in developing young Bermudians and giving us opportunities to succeed. Working alongside Ben Rego as his assistant gave me a front-row seat to how high-level deals are managed and how to really elevate the client experience. That perspective has completely shaped how I approach real estate. My favorite part of the job is taking what I have learned and helping clients find their perfect home, it is incredibly rewarding to guide someone through such an important decision in their life.

Where are you seeing activity in the market at the moment? Right now, the market is really active, both in sales and rentals. Properties are moving quickly once they hit the market, especially when they have been positioned the right way. One of the things I have learned at Rego Sotheby’s International Realty is how much of a difference it makes to really invest in our listings, whether that is through professional staging, high-quality marketing, or a professional media team. That level of care and exposure has been a huge driver behind the activity we are seeing. Buyers and renters are showing strong interest in homes with updated interiors, outdoor spaces, and versatile layouts, and when those properties are presented at their best, the response is immediate. Being part of that process has shown me just how dynamic and fast-paced the Bermuda market can be.

What is your favorite property on the market right now? My favorite property at the moment is Clarendon in Pembroke. I love it because it combines modern design with a real sense of calm and privacy, all just a few minutes from Hamilton. The indoor/outdoor flow is fantastic, so it is perfect for relaxing or entertaining. Every corner of the home feels thoughtfully designed, and being able to show a property like this to clients, knowing it is not only beautiful but also a strong investment, makes it especially exciting to work with. How do you see the Bermuda property market over the next 12 months? I think the Bermuda property market is going to stay very active over the next year. Demand is strong in both sales and rentals, and with low supply, well presented properties continue to draw serious interest quickly. Buyers and sellers who are prepared, informed, and ready to act will have the most success. Transitioning from intern to full-time agent has really reinforced for me how important it is to stay on top of trends and understand client needs in a market that moves as quickly as this one.

What are your top 3 tips for purchasers when looking for a new home? When looking for a home, the first thing is to ensure you are pre-approved and have a clear understanding of your budget and timing, that foundation makes the whole process more straightforward. Second, know your priorities, whether it is location, layout, outdoor space, or investment potential, so you can focus on what truly fits your lifestyle. Finally, build a strong relationship with your agent, a good agent can guide you, spot opportunities early, and help navigate negotiations, which makes the process much smoother.

Do you have any tips for sellers preparing their home for sale? For sellers, there is an old saying that the market speaks for itself in terms of value, but at Rego Sotheby’s International Realty we are strong believers that it is the marketer within the agent that can significantly impact value as well. We put great emphasis on professional staging, presentation, and marketing to ensure a property is shown at its very best, and we aim to continue delivering on that promise for every client.
