This month for ‘Meet the Agent’ we interview Yaz DeGraff, a sales and rental agent at MainPoint Real Estate. Yaz discusses combining her career locally in real estate whilst studying Public Relations and Communications at University, favourite listing on the market right now and also bringing the skills learnt from Yaz’s University course to MainPoint Real Estate.
How long have you been in the business? I have been in business since I was 16, learning and working with my Mum (Erna DeGraff) with her real estate business, MainPoint Real Estate (MPRE). I have been a part-time agent since June of 2021 and proud to say that I am currently the youngest licensed agent in Bermuda.
Why do you like working for MainPoint Real Estate and what’s the favorite part of your job? Working for MPRE is never tedious. My job within MPRE covers all aspects of real estate. My favorite part of working at MPRE is measuring properties, to find the square footage, for appraisals and listings.
What is your favorite property on the market right now? 23 Ewing Street, City of Hamilton is currently on the market at $650,000. This property is not just commercial but also residential with prime parking in the back. A pure gem in the northeast area off the city. CLICK HERE TO VIEW
What are you studying in university? I am studying Public Relations and Communications currently in the UK, going into my last year this September. I’ve covered areas from crisis management to marketing and internal communication. I will continue to assist MPRE whilst in university, providing them with media content such as editing and new posts for social media.
What do you plan to bring into MPRE? As the youngest real estate agent, I plan on using the knowledge from my university courses and experience to help both vendors and buyers. For example, I can provide them with media content such as videography and editing skills to display their property. You can view these on our social medias (Facebook and Instagram). What makes you a good asset to MPRE? I am a visionary, full of ideas and always up to date with current events and technology. I am also a keen learner, ready to assist wherever I am needed.
What is your top tip for purchasers when looking for a potential new home? Get pre-approved. Getting pre-approved helps you and the agent find the best property to fit within your pre-approval range.
