As part of the new franchise agreement, the company has rebranded to Keller Williams Bermuda and will continue to specialise in the sale and lease of residential and commercial properties on the Island.

Albert Moura, owner and CEO of Moura & Associates, first opened the company’s doors in 2003 and built a business that has come to be known as a highly respected, hard-working, boutique real estate agency in Bermuda. In recent years, Moura knew that he wanted to change the business model of the company and provide more support to his agents, to be more in line with his belief.
He came upon the perfect solution last year, after a three-year search: Keller Williams. More to the point, he discovered a company that aligned with his own beliefs: a company that puts agents first, supporting them with training, technology and culture. Keller Williams is a hugely successful standalone franchise organisation, which originated in Austin, Texas, in 1983. In addition, agents are able to attend one of two annual conventions, the larger of which attracts up to 18,000 agents and takes place in a different location every year. Accreditation is also available for KW Bermuda agents and, as the company is already a member of the Luxury Division, they will be given even more global exposure.
A strong company culture also sets Keller Williams apart from other real estate franchises. The company incorporates a formalised belief system into its daily work life that encourages all members of staff to work and grow as a team, and is grounded in the understanding that the customer always comes first.
The Keller Williams strategy to invest heavily in technology is not to simply ‘keep up with trends’, but to create them. Along with a number of other franchise owners, Moura is part of the company’s “Innovation Lab”, providing direction on new processes that they would like to see. The Lab is currently working on a global listings platform being launched in early 2018.
Looking to the future, Keller Williams Bermuda intends to grow from its current count of eight agents, with a view to encouraging new or experienced real estate agents to join the team, regardless of whether they’ve been in the business for 40 years or none at all. What will matter is whether they are open to learning, are keen to join a highly motivated team, and are willing to take on the Keller Williams approach.
