Guernsey Christmas Markets
Found in St. Peter Port, the heart of the island’s capital, there are Christmas markets! There is no surprise that St. Peter Port is the focal point for Guernsey’s festive celebrations. This is an ideal place to purchase gifts as there are plenty of stalls that offer beautiful items and keepsakes including handmade crafts, trinkets, hand-painted pottery, photos, art prints and many more. In addition to this, these Christmas markets are located near where the town’s lights get switched on where there will be Christmas carolers and a special visit from Santa for the children.
Ice Skating
Each year, a seasonal ice rink opens. This has been the case since 2014 and is the only real ice rink that the island has. The ice rink is open 7 days a week and opens early December to early January. This will be closed on Christmas day, Boxing day and New year’s day. It is worth booking in advance to avoid not having a slot, due to how popular this activity is!
Winter Walks
Guernsey is undoubtedly one of the most perfect destinations for those who like to walk. There are plenty of scenic destinations that Guernsey has to offer, in each of its parishes. Guernsey’s golden beaches, famous landmarks, panoramic views and many more extraordinary sights make walking around the island surreal, especially during the holiday season.
